Dunk Island Camping Transfers
The QuickCoast Dunk Island Ferry offers transfers fro people staying overnight at the camp sites. Select your departue and return dates on our camping transfers booking form.
The Dunk Island transfer departs Mission Beach at 9am and returns to Mission Beach at 3.30pm. A one way trip takes around 15 minutes.
Booking your Camp Site
The Cassowary Coast Regional Council offers 8 beachfront camp sites on Dunk Island. Four family sites on the beachfront along each side of the spit equipped with picnic tables and tent space. These sites cater for up to 8 people.

Dunk Island has no shops where you can purchase food. If you are not purchasing the optional BBQ lunch please bring your own water and food.

QuickCoast is a spacious and comfortable fast catamaran with a capacity of 85+ day passengers.
Traveling with Children
Children between 4 and 14 years travel at half price.
Children under 4 travel at roughly 30% of the cost of an adult.

The Quickcoast Dunk Island Ferry is currently operating 3-5 days a week (please check the booking form calendar).
Departs Mission Beach at 9am and returns at 3.30pm
Dunk Island Attractions
The Sand Spit
The Sand Spit is a picturesque sand bar and one of the best places to swim on the island. The main pier at Brammo Bay is also a great place to swim and explore. The water is beautifully clear.
Muggy Muggy Beach
Take the winding track through the rainforest, coastal woodland, and mangroves to Muggy Muggy beach around the corner from the main resort beach on Brammo Bay. This is a quiet, secluded beach perfect for family swimming and snorkelling .
Circuit Walking Trail (3 Hours)
The three-hour Island Circuit trail. Starting at your beach-side drop off, hike up to the Mount Kootaloo summit (the top of the island) for panoramic views over the Family Islands. Continue on through Palm Valley and walk along Coconut Beach before going for a snorkel on the white sandy spit and coral reef around the main pier at Brammo Bay also a great place to swim and explore the jetty.
Mt Kootaloo
From the jetty, make a left and follow the beach until you reach the track signs leading to Muggy Muggy Beach and Mt Kootaloo.
The steep 7km-return track takes you through ancient fern forests and ironbark groves, past the rusty remains of a World War II radar station, to the island’s highest point with pinch-yourself panoramic views of the Family Group of Islands.
